My research plan

I will answer my questions in order, and thoroughly. I hope to find a database on dialects, if there is such a thing, and I will use wikipedia, google, and any other research sites I can find, until I am satisfied with my answer to each question. I will interview random people I guess, possibly including Mrs. Williams. 

My research questions.

When was the term ebonics first used? Where was it used? When was the dialect first used? Where was it used first?

My research goals

I would like to know where and when to term ebonics was created and when the "language" itself originated.

My language beliefs

I currently believe that when around strangers or old people, proper grammar is a necessity.

I came to this belief because if you don't do this, they act really offended and yell at you. We've

had several class discussions that at some point mentioned that this statement is true, however, it

is not important to use proper english at ALL times, just when around elders an important people,

but if your with your friends and family, talk however you want, that's my overall belief about

language, but many people don't have the same thinking and speak in ebonics most all the time.
